Project 006: Will Nichols
You never really know if you are pushing your limit until you break past it. For our sixth project, Save Art teamed up with local photographer Will Nichols and well-known blog site Highsnobiety to pull off what most people said would be impossible for us to do. We organized a photowalk in downtown Los Angeles and invited photographers to capture their points of view of the city while learning about the unique art and architecture from a local historian. Later that night select shots from the walk were showcased and sold at Timothy Hogan Projects in Santa Monica. Within 5 hours we had selected, printed and hung 103 photos from over 70 different photographers and set up the gallery for a great opening night. Proceeds from each piece were donated to Las Fotos, a youth mentoring organization for female photographers in east Los Angeles. The exhibit remained open for one week.
